A large number of assignments
have been carried out by Mackay & Schnellmann Pty Limited on
copper-lead-zinc deposits as well as on nickel and similar metals.
Examples of recent assignments
on base metals are:
SOUTH AUSTRALIA & WESTERN
AUSTRALIA, 2001
On behalf of a Western Australian company, an Independent Geologist's
Report has been prepared for inclusion in a prospectus. The main
property is at Olary in South Australia that is highly prospective
for base metals as well as for gold. Base metal mineralisation occurs
beneath later cover around the margins of a granitic intrusive.
Other properties of the company in Western Australia are prospective
for gold, diamond, nickel, base metals and manganese.
AUSTRALIA WIDE, 2000
On behalf of a major overseas client engaged in building a new smelter,
an appraisal was carried out of the potential availability of copper
concentrates from existing operations and pre production stage properties
throughout Australia. Recommendations were made on two deposits
both at the feasibility study stage. As a follow up, one of these
properties was the subject of a more detailed study and of discussions
with the owners of the deposit.
WESTERN AUSTRALIA & SOUTH
AUSTRALIA, 1998
An Independent Geologist's Report was prepared on the mineral property
interests of a Western Australian company for incorporation in a
prospectus. The properties included lead-zinc mineralisation in
the Northampton area of Western Australia, silver-zinc mineralisation
at Tarrawarra north of Carnarvon also in Western Australia plus
five areas in South Australia prospective for base metal and gold
mineralisation. The former included both the Mississippi and Olympic
Dam styles of target.
WESTERN AUSTRALIA, 1997
Exploration was carried out for nickel laterite mineralisation over
a 3250 km2 area in the
Eastern Goldfields. Techniques employed involved research of old
data, field exploration, interpretation of remote sensing data and
geomorphological interpretation. Areas with considerable potential
were delineated but the client was unable to continue with the exploration
due to changed financial circumstances.
WESTERN AUSTRALIA, 1996
An assessment was undertaken of the nickel potential of a group
of tenements held by a Western Australian explorer on behalf of
a prospective joint venture partner.
