Considerable experience has been gained by Mackay & Schnellmann Pty Limited in the exploration of primary and alluvial diamond deposits. In addition some assignments have been undertaken on other gemstones.

Examples of recent assignments on diamonds are:

SOUTH AFRICA, 2001
A multi-client study is under preparation for a large area of South Africa prospective for alluvial and hard rock diamond deposits. Remote sensing and historical data are being incorporated in a digital database and a regional prospectivity analysis is being carried out over the area to define targets for follow up exploration.

LIBERIA, 1997
A field investigation was conducted over mineral concessions covering the currently productive alluvial diamond areas along the Lofa and Yambesei Rivers, the kimberlite prospective Wolegizi Ranges area of central and northern Liberia and coastal diamond concessions in the Robertsport and Lake Piso areas. Investigations focussed on target confirmation and generation based on geomorphological interpretation of the areas using digital Landsat TM and GIS software. Recommendations included costed future exploration and evaluation programmes. The assignment was carried out on behalf of an overseas explorer.

WESTERN AUSTRALIA, 1995
As input to a Fair and Reasonable report on a related party transaction whereby Australian Gold Fields N.L. were acquiring certain tenements from Jade Creek Resources NL, a Specialist Geologist's Valuation was prepared on the diamond mineral property interests of both parties.

KAZAKHSTAN, 1994
Evaluation of diamond exploration data was carried out on behalf of an overseas client together with prospect evaluation of several sites and recommendations for future exploration. Work had been undertaken by Kazakhstan governmental agencies over a number of years. Exploration techniques employed had included drainage sampling, diamond core drilling, large diameter augering and so forth. Diamonds were present in kimberlite pipes and in the eluvial and alluvial deposits that were present in the vicinity.

RUSSIAN FEDERATION, 1994
A diamond project area in Primorski Kray, Far Eastern Russia was examined on behalf of an Australian exploration company. Geological, drilling, geophysical and bulk sampling data were assessed during a site visit, independent sampling and sample processing were conducted and a report was prepared on the status and prospectivity of the area.
